Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager has responsibility to develop, plan, implement, coordinate, and direct the Quality Control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the duties outlined below. The Quality Assurance Manager will collaborate with all department managers and supervisors to assess weaknesses in the current state and help develop future state processes through the implementation of Lean tools and methodologies

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Develop, implement and manage all Corrective Action Reports and/or reporting metrics.
  • Formulate, maintain and coordinate quality control objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Track and consistently communicate the quality manufacturing performance goals and objectives metrics to department managers, supervisors and employees in a clear and concise format.
  • Manage all plant continuous improvement activities to improve productivity, yield, reduce cycle time and increase on-time delivery.
  • Develop and ensure the production systems comply with internal quality systems standards, ASME code and customer driven requirements.
  • Develop long-term quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide leadership to a quality team of salary and hourly employees.
  • Drive continuous improvement by addressing any weakness in the quality system.
  • Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities and products.
  • Investigate, resolve and serve as the key contact to customer complaints regarding quality and/or other customer matters.
  • Appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Knowledge of ASME Boiler, Pressure piping and Pressure Vessel Codes and standard welding procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in the Quality Assurance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

  2. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
