M & H Valve Company is seeking an IT Data Specialist for its Anniston, Alabama manufacturing facility. The candidate for this position will be required to use analytical skills, as well as collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate data into information so that business decisions can be made.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter and “clean” data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
  • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills

Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, standard deviation, and proportions to practical situations.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.



Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX: ERP software, Power BI, Power Query, and Microsoft PowerPivot for Excel. Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets.
