The benefits specialist is responsible for assisting the AVP, Compensation and Benefits in directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending and HSA/HRA plans). The benefits specialist should have vast working knowledge of HRIS systems and provide excellent customer service. Assist in investigating new benefits programs, improves existing programs, and monitors benefits administration, aids in the designing of team member benefits plans and provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefits programs.
Planning, organizing and directing the activities related to group health, group life, dental, vision, flexible spending, and wellness programs
Reviewing and assuring compliance with Federal and State Statutes as it effects team member benefits. FMLA, ADA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FSLA, etc.
Assisting in the acquisition (RFP process) of medical, dental, vision insurance coverage and flexible benefit programs as required.
HRIS Administration and programming for benefit purposes.
Review and monitor performance agreements with the flexible benefit plan administrator and participating as the client performance team member.
Acts as a liaison between all benefit vendor representative, our facilities and team members.
Bachelor's degree; preferred Business Administration, HR Management, or related field
5-8 years’ progressive experience in Human Resources with an emphasis on benefit administration; preferred HRIS Administration
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs with strong excel skills. Familiarity with UltiPro a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of compensation, employee relations, as well as state and federal labor regulations.
PHR, SHRM-CP, or SPHR preferred, but not required
