  • Overview

    Manchester Tank & Equipment Co. has been a trusted industry leader in the design and manufacture of steel and aluminum low-pressure DOT cylinders and ASME pressure vessels for the storage and transport of propane, chemicals, compressed air and other industrial applications since 1946. 

    Responsibilities

    • Identify opportunities to eliminate/reduce design bottlenecks with goals of improving OEE and enhancing overall system reliability;
    • "Hands on role" utilizing the PLC, Vision and motion controls development software to analyze and resolve production issues;
    • Interface with production team leaders, skilled trades, operators and software tools to perform root cause analysis and implement solutions;
    • Troubleshoot and program PLC's and HMI's
    • Develop creative solutions and alternatives for specific electrical and control problems in manufacturing
    • Design and prepare electrical circuit drawings
    • Support various I/O devices connected to PLC's including HMI's, scanners, remote I/O, sensors, relays, solenoids, etc.
    • Specify, select, & integrate new equipment in accordance with all project specific requirements and relevant code requirements
    • Work with team members and other functional areas to resolve customer issues related to quality, design and/or other issues related to the process and equipment
    • Review and make recommendations to improve product design and processes
    • Create and maintain documents including creation/revision of documentation, manufacturing or process work instructions and standard operating procedures
    • Participate in identification and resolution of issues related to safety and ergonomics
    • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.  Able to troubleshoot 480 three phase and 110

    Qualifications

    • Associate Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls Information or closely related field and 5 years working experience in this field of work:
    • Skills working with PLC Logics and Codes
    • Knowledge of electrical codes, NFPA70E, NEC and control logic
    • Detailed oriented and self-directed
    • Proficient in Microsoft office and CAD programs
