As a member of the Product Management Organization, the Field Application Engineer (FAE) will work collaboratively with several functional groups in the company, including Sales, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering and Solutions Engineering, to deliver customer value, focusing on:

    • Serving in a Pre-Sales Engineering role, meeting with customers, understanding their problems and recommending technical solutions
    • Defining and implementing the optimal solution where there is often much room for customization and creative input into solution sales, implementation, delivery and support
    • Serving in a Post-Sales Engineering role, overseeing the initial implementations of solutions and ensuring a positive customer experience
    • Applying engineering and customer experience skills to determine how to optimize future implementations of the solution.

    Sales Support

    • Provide technical input and scoping for proposals
    • Meet with customers onsite to understand, define and clarify specific problems and challenges
    • Provide technical support for sales meetings
    • Perform webinars for potential customer opportunities
    • Perform energy savings analyses and payback calculations
    • Communicate assumptions and analysis results clearly to the customer

    Solution Development

    • Determine and document customer solution requirements
    • Drive iterative development of solutions for customer problems and challenges
    • Verify solutions with customers before implementation

     Solution Delivery

    • Oversee the implementation of new solutions at customer sites
    • Develop project plans, and identify risks and mitigation plans
    • Coordinate and advise solution installation activities
    • Lead solution commissioning at customer sites
    • Troubleshoot installations of new solutions
    • Build custom dashboards for customer installations


    Required Skills:

    • BS in Engineering or Computer Science, or an equivalent degree
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability and willingness to travel consistently within North America 2+ weeks a month


    Preferred Skills:

    • Energy Engineering background and experience
    • Software development background and experience
    • Sales experience
