The Role

 

Provide benefits administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plans. Must have extensive experience dealing with Workers' Compensation.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

 

  • Administer all benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, voluntary benefits, EAP, FSA, Wellness Program, Tuition Reimbursement and 401(K) plans.
  • Resolve employees benefit issues and take appropriate actions.
  • Coordinate benefits processing to include, enrollments (Health, Dental, 401K, Life Insurance, STD, LTD, FSA, Wellness Program, Voluntary Benefits and Tuition Reimbursement Program), COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDRO's, distributions, loans, hardship and compliance testing.
  • Reconcile monthly invoices for all company benefit programs to include, health, dental, vision, 401K, Short/Long Term Disability, EAP, FMLA. ADA, and Gilsbar Wellness Program.
  • Manage and interpret FMLA and ADA claims/implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Serve as the primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Plan and develop curricula and materials for training programs and conduct benefit training.
  • Conduct annual open enrollment activities for all company benefits.
  • Perform quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Install approved new plans or changes to existing plans by preparing announcement materials, plan summary documents and other media for communicating plans to employees. Conduct employee meetings and arrange for enrollment.
  • Responsible for investigating and processing worker’s compensation claims, establishing reserves and for coordinating the disbursement of benefits.
  • Reviews loss report and related forms to determine sufficient information to make a valid claim.
  • Evaluates facts and applies law in order to recommend approval/denial of claims; approves/disapproves medical bills; notifies claimant, medical service providers, attorneys and others involved in the status of claims.
  • Maintains claim files, prepares quarterly and annual reports, as well as special reports when requested. Prepares own correspondence and payments for claims.
  • Answers questions from claimants and other parties; explains legal requirements and procedures which apply to workers’ compensation.
  • Calculates and issues benefits; reconciles statements from claimants.
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefit files and update employee benefit records in UltiPro.
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers.
  • Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company’s benefit packages.
  • Administer the Tuition Reimbursement Program.
  • Design and distribute materials for benefit orientations and open enrollment.
  • Provide training and support to Managers, Supervisors and employees.
  • Develop benefits information and statistical and census data for insurance carriers and management.

Qualifications

Who You Are

 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study.
  • Three to five years of direct employee benefits administration experience.
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer software packages, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft Office and UltiPro benefits administration.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining data for benefit metrics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local regulations regarding benefits, including COBRA, FLSA, FSA Accounts, Workers’ Compensation and Cafeteria Plans.
