Overview

The HR Assistant will assist the HR Manager in various duties.

Responsibilities


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Records employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason.
Process employment applications and assist in other employment activities.
Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses.
Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons.
Compiles data from personnel records and prepares reports.
Reviews time and attendance for use in payroll processing.
Compiles and maintains records for use in employee benefits administration.
Prepares employment packages for applications and new employees.
Assists with payroll if needed.
Interviewing and recruiting assistance.
Communicates and maintains all temporary employees staffing needs.
Assumes most Human Resource duties and responsibilities when Human Resource Manager is absent.
Looks for opportunity to get employees involved in safety, environmental, process changes and overall improvement efforts.
To follow all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.
Shut down process if unsafe.
Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

Education and/or Experience
§ Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
§ Thorough working knowledge of data processing systems (PCs) and related software.
§ Must attend, complete, and implement required in-house training.

Language Skills
Must possess well developed speaking and writing skills with ability to communicate effectively with all groups of team members and management.

Mathematical Skills
Must be able to perform basic mathematical functions and calculations required to complete the job requirements including analytical tools.

There is a fairly high noise level throughout the plant and hearing protection must be worn at all times while in the plant during production. Wearing of other proper protective equipment is required at all times while in the plant during production
