Position Purpose:


Grow Waterman’s AG market share by managing, maintaining and expanding existing distributor base while providing quality customer service in support of the sales and profitability goals for the assigned region. Specifically be a working manager with a defined territory and manage two-three  other regional managers. Provide support for the VP of Sales & Marketing in monitoring and growing the AG market.  


Position Summary:


Works with inside team leader to drive growth and support the distributor network for the Waterman AG business.   


Oversees two or three regionally based sales personnel, while effectively managing and working a small territory themselves.  Manages team conflict and works effectively to add continuous improvement to all aspects of the channel management and customer management processes. Measures, tracks and reports quote and sales activity.  Introduces new products, trains distirbuors on product and applications of Waterman’s products.



Essential Functions:


  • Develop and maintain good relationships with customers in our industry
  • Meet regional sales and financial objectives and produce reports for annual budgets, expenditures, and forecasting.
  • Take immediate and strategic action on all customer reported concerns related to product or warranty, going on-site when appropriate
  • Demonstrate expert level knowledge of current pricing for AG products and all competitors
  • Achieve general product knowledge for Waterman’s AG products, and other products offered by Waterman
  • Responsible for knowledge of ongoing and potential projects in your geographic area; all stages, design through bidding
  • Cultivate communication and trust with distributor and customer networks
  • Utilize all tools provided to track and log contacts, project phases, and future development opportunities
  • Establish and maintain strong communication plan with Inside Sales Representatives
  • Produce identified weekly and monthly reporting efficiently and timely
  • Work diligently to become a strong business partner with your distributors in other geographical areas
  • Perform various other miscellaneous sales and service-related duties as directed by management
  • Manage other regional sales managers in achieving the above listed functions


Other job functions:

  • Travel with other Regional Sales Managers once a quarter


Experience & Required Qualifications:


  • This position requires extensive travel throughout the territory, with approximately 75% travel and 25% working from home office. Suitable candidate will maintain a positive attitude and work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Management, Engineering, Agricultural or related field
  • 5+ years directly related experience in Sales or Sales Management, preferably in construction, water management or other related fields
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, problem solving skills and influencing skills
  • Ability to use presentation tools effectively both remotely (Teams, Zoom, etc.) and in person (PowerPoint).
  • Experienced with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and able to guide a team in leveraging CRM tools to track, manage and measure department activities.  (position will use Microsoft Dynamics CRM).
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
