Responsibilities

 

 

Position 1: Melting Spare 

  • Observing and maintaining magnesium, silicon, and chill material levels. Additionally, change lime bags as necessary.
  • Pouring Iron
  • Weigh coke and lime before each charge, check the coke and lime scale.
  • Clean the cupola long runner.
  • Clean pig bed and transfer ladle pits and any other areas assigned by supervisor.
  • Work with supervisor if ladles need to be repaired before the production run.
  • Communicate supervisor/s on issues that arise.

Position 2: Casting Spare

  • Check the temperature of the iron hourly, remove slag from iron by using skimmer.
  • Remove buildup from quad ladle as needed, in addition to keeping the ladle full always.
  • Ensure the trough is heated properly. Maintain the maintenance of the trough by removing slivers, iron buildup, slag, and blackening.
  • Inspect machinery for mold defects.
  • Operate control panels to operate machinery.
  • Apply grease on spigot ring using a brush to spinning pipe mold. Remove iron from spigot ring and spill tray.
  • Other duties that are assigned by supervisor/manager.

 

Position 3: Hot Line Spare

In this position, the team member will be trained and qualified to operate the following equipment

 

  • Oven Loader
  • Oven Tender
  • Weighman
  • Grinder
  • Cut Saw
  • Transfer car #2 & #3
  • Small and Large test Press
  • Pipe roller
  • Zinc Machine
  •

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Ability to read policies and procedures
