Overview

SUMMARY

The Network/Computer Support Technician position is a technical, hands on position, responsible for daily operations, equipment, and efficient resources in accordance with cost, quality, and delivery specifications. Provide technical support for software and hardware systems that supply end users with tools to enhance their productivity and effectiveness to support business applications.

 

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

 

  • Maintain Microsoft Active Directory of users and computers per corporate guidelines.
  • Obtain, assemble and configure electronic devices (desktop, laptop, tablets and phones) for new hires following company guidelines
  • Install applications for users as identified
  • Identify and solve problems that arise with computers, VIOP phones, bar code scanners, printers and other identified devices.
  • Maintain and set up site specific systems, digital signage, PA systems, and Evacuation Alarms
  • After hours/weekend updates as required to minimize down time
  • Evaluate current software and hardware products for upgrade opportunities
  • Monitor Engineering server and software for updates needed. (SolidWorks and other CAD/CAM applications)
  • Provide network services as needed with corporate support ( Familiarity with Cisco Switches and Network Architecture).
  • Work with corporate IT support personnel to set up new equipment, and adding to network
  • Work through any network outages with proper corporate personnel

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in field
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server 2003-2012, Windows OS from XP to W10
  • Familiarity with network infrastructure in multi VLan environment
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation Software and other related applications a plus (RS Logix, Panel View, PLC Controllers)
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Proven results to develop a team and working cohesively within a team.
