M&H Valve is seeking a CNC Operator in Anniston, AL.

 

Summary

Sets up and operates computer numerically controlled machines to perform machining operations such as turning, boring, facing, and threading parts such as castings and bar stock.

Responsibilities

  • 1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
  • Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Wears appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
  • Uses proper lifting and ergo techniques.
  • Follows detailed job specific instructions to make sure castings are produced in the most efficient manner and to meet customer specifications.
  • Reads blueprints to ensure parts are produced according to required tolerances and specifications.
  • Reads process sheets, blueprints, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
  • Selects and applies proper tooling and control settings.
  • Makes modifications to machine offsets as needed, to ensure the machined parts are within blueprint tolerances.
  • Selects and installs tooling in tool posts, turrets or indexing heads, and automatic tool change magazine, in sequence specified on process sheet or program.
  • Mounts workpiece between centers, in chuck, fixtures or to faceplate.
  • Inspects first run piece and checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications.
  • Studies job packet and organizes materials for next run during automatic controlled cycles to shorten changeover time.
  • Disposes of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
  • Separates scrap waste and related materials for reuse, recycling, or disposal.
  • Maintains machine tools in proper operational condition.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Machining Tool Technology degree or certification preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
  • Working knowledge of mills, lathes, and turning equipment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
